Some phone makers appear to be updating version numbers without actually installing the associated security fixes.

Full details to come later today, but worth keeping an eye on if you’re using an Android smartphone...

(There are a ton of good and bad things about iOS phones, but one definite positive is that Apple maintains 100% control over updates for all their phones. Means you’re at their mercy - bugs and all - but also that if they say your phone is patched, it’s patched.)

I found that Apple is mainly for people who don't understand computers or technology that well, they need their software managed in a nice little wrapper - also their favorite colour is white :) nowt wrong with any of that.
In 25 years of being in IT if I walked into an agency and saw they were using MAC's I generally walked straight out again. It's like when I asked for CV's to be written in black ink, all the ones that are not black ink go straight in the bin without reading them. Does anyone remember the phase about mid 2000's when people went MAC crazy at PC World - as if only a MAC could do graphic design work.
