Saw this in the local ad rag...spot it if you can

What were we all saying about people would never be daft enough to use these filthy new gtld's - and a hyphen to boot!

Looks like he only uses it as an email address so probably doesn't matter what extension he used.

Given that craigrichardsplumbing.co.uk is still available to reg I don't suppose he is too bothered what he uses. Actually as he has a trade some might think the .plumbing makes him stand out.

Doesn't seem a very good idea to me. Given that he's advertised it in print and people will have to copy it into their email software, that very long email address with a hyphen and an unfamiliar extension may well end up being copied inexactly.

But in the real world only a few people are ever going to respond to his ad by email - i think people usually ring plumbers - and most people are capable of copying out an email address. And if he ever does get a website he would be able to use a hyperlink or contact form.

How many .com and .co.uk plumbing related sites in the top million? To me 3 sounds quite a respectable number given that it is a specific industry.

People don’t email in an emergency and that’s what most trades want it’s the biggest money spinner? The vast majority that will email are sales men, “SEO experts” out of town companies looking for people to do works especially one that don’t want to pay, tyre kickers and other plumbers looking for price guides... Listing high on G local is all most trades need ( until they start charging )
