I asked over on a4u but no response.

For those of you who run sport websites I am just starting one up and would like to know if you asked permission from teams to use there logo or as because they are used in all media to promote the teams are in the public domain sort of thing and can be used without permission.

I just don't ant to break any copyright laws.

Thanks in advance,

Darren

Yes you can't use clubs logos without their permission it's better to just make a kit swatch (e.g. red/black man united) until you get full permission. You'll also need to get a Football Dataco license if you want to publish premier league fixtures/league table

Thanks for that quick answer, I though that that may be the case.

Thankfully this website isn't football related, its amazing how many rules that the FA/PL have and how much it costs you for simple things like fixtures.

It's a bit mad.

Thanks again,

Darren
