starting domain registrar?

(following on from a post i saw on another forum)

what would it take, moneywise, hardware wise, expertise wise to
become a domain registrar and take over from where 123-REG
left off ?
 
not much, Nom membership and Tag and a couple of nights scripting for your backend... whats the point though 123 make 6p on a domain reg :(

You need alot of 6p's just to get a mars bar!
 
point taken, probably explains why 123-REG dont seem particualy bothered at the moment
 
yeah but allthough .co.uks do make them some money, its allmost a loss-leader, to get you to start buying all your domains from them, look how much profit they make on a .com etc, i think they make u reg for at least 2 years costign about £22

if its in british pounds and it has a decent control area, i might
be interested in this...

oh, and registers the domains pretty quick

the only thing that holds me back from using ukreg all the time
is the crap control panel
