Maybe I'm trying to be a perfectionist, but I can never find good templates for my mini sites. The sort of things I am looking for are:

1. Easily adaptable without recourse to playing with photoshop...playing with graphics is such a time suck. Menu's are not graphical, but easily replaced.
2. Places and optimised places for adsense, search and affiliates.
3. Good structure that allows easy placement of a relatively small number of articles on the site.
4. Easy replacement of graphics...

Maybe its just me, put I find it impossible to settle on a design. Any ideas?

I use joomla for it, you can build a template to what you want. Save the database to the install default database and everytime you load it in it installs the default stuff and you are away.

I can get a joomla site with ads and everything up in around 20-30 minutes.

Personally I think it will have to be some kind of CMS to do what you want.

I am developing my own script that pulls a header image, affiliate product feed, template and meta tags per domain genre. I can even do that on 1 domain/host account but looking at MyAffSite it seems that is a very short term solution before Google doesn't rank it as well so it seems dedicated hosting per domain is the way to go but I want to have a quick solution to put sites up.

I will update my master database once a month and that will update all the sites.

I still need to keep some unique text in each site, otherwise Google doesn't like that either.

As always it is time vs results. I will see how my script does with keeping rankings once I'm finished coding it.
