I live in NZ and drop catch .uk and have never heard of "Transport for London" until now.

So for some its not obvious.

If anyone else has typed the address TFL.co.uk into the browser they would see it is already directed at TravelForLondon.org.uk ;)

Not for me it isn't. Not yet anyway.

I had my facts wrong with my original post ... I'll try again later once I've finishing bathing the kids, read them a story, put them to bed, popped round to see a mate, watched NCIS, etc :)

Possibly best suitors but I think Governments and Councils "get" domains the least. So I wouldn't be hanging out for offers from such entities myself.

Isn't it a bit dangerous that they have included "tfl - Transport for London" in big bold letters on their homepage? I would have thought that's like saying "Please DRS me, here's some juicy evidence..."

it's travel for london on whois and domain redirects to travelforlondon.org.uk
but it seems a little too similar
who knows

The redirect is foolish too in my opinion. I could buy it the other way round; i.e. org to the co, but this seems to be a plan to thwart the triple-letter acronym which is synonymous with the government site and URL. And the logo - well, just plain ill-advised if advised at all.

I bet Dave is reading this and then reading his bank statement :)

Good for you, sir, upon a good sale!

I still think there was more to go for in the auction but I suspect you're not too bothered ;)
