That's very worrying for any business. (globally!!!)
So they sit round a table and decide how much they think you should be paying?

I might be completely wrong here, but is ICAAN not the same organisation that is still influenced heavily by the US government?

I can see this going down very well with our Asian friends. Not only do the US still have a say, they also get to take more of their money.

If it goes through, I would not like to be an employee at Icaans hq.

Agreed Scooter.
I must admit I think they are doing what Governments do. Leak a scare report, pretend they're giving in & making concessions. People are shitting themselves & everyone accepts a doubling or trebling of price. Something along those lines. At the end of the day, governments can't compete with coca cola, microsoft, virgin, walmart etc
There is now way they or their shareholders will hand over millions. (we hope) They'll just send along their lawyers who are permanently on their payroll anyway & batter icann. At least i hope the big boys will batter them for us minnows. Otherwise we're all doomed!!

We know Nominet have got no bollocks,they'll just follow suit too.
