Wanted: Domain Appraisal TrafficAccidentCompensationClaim org/uk

I had an appraisal of £250 and one of reg fee to £40 for RoadTrafficAccidentCompensation.com & RoadTrafficAccidentCompensation.co.uk
which gets 1900 each month. TrafficAccidentCompensationClaim gets 1600 each month and is an org.uk. Based on the appraisals I got for mine I would say reg free to £50 tops (based on £250 for the .com and .co.uk). Basing it on £40 for both of mine, you would be lucky to get reg fee back.

Its probably worth £100 to someone in the claims business. Only 1 accepted case would more than cover its cost.
Its only worth reg fee to someone who is not MOJ regulated as it would be illegal for them to promote the site without being regulated.

Think it’s not worth reg fee... There’s the length (that would look good on a business card) if you did a radio jingle would have to be 30 seconds long just to say it…? Then the extension org'uk great seo, crap enduser sales... Its ok to say one case etc your money back, You have to host it, build it, get advertisers affiliate etc, get it too rank, then get your payment ...? to much effort/time for little or no return...

Seen a lot of companies in the pi industry who reg domains in like this one to redirect to their main website or to act as landing pages for their main website.
Thats why i think the length of the domain is irrelevants as it wont be used on business cards or radio jingles.
Got a simple wp page on it now so it can age in the search engines and perhaps get the odd adsense click.
Sure i can make a few quid from it( xx range)
Now im off to get ready for the holland game!

The MOJ rules for this type of advertising are tighter than the FSA for financial stuff. With the FSA, provided you make it clear it is just info - not advice - then you don't need to be FSA registered. (It is hard to override the domain name, though, as I have found out with investmentadvice dot blah blah.) With the MOJ rules, any advertsing carried on even an info-only claims site means that the site has to be properly registered with the MOJ.
That need for registration means that the name has to be worth the effort and the four words dot org dot uk may not pass that subjective test. I have a bunch of these domains where I will either have to pony up £500 to register and then pay the annual charge of £200 odd or write off the reg fees.
That's why Acorn is so good for sharing these facts.

I think Tom is referring to the lead value when the site is developed and NOT a pure domain name sale

Thanks for that.
I don't have that many domains and I am too diverted by other things at present to justify sinking a lot of money into a MOJ registration.
When I look at the uk exacts for these types of terms, many sit at around 1400 - 1800 pcm. Loads of claim/compensation domains have this range. It makes me wonder whether it's just all the other domain holders checking up on their domain rankings.

They don't half make regulations hard to follow.
From reading it I *think* that you only need to be regulated if you are taking client details, signing contracts, taking payments, etc.
If you're just selling advertising then I *think* that you don't need to be regulated, as per their pdf:
"Purchasing advertising space, for example, in a shop, does not necessarily mean that the shop has to obtain authorisation, because the advertisement should say who the consumer should contact. If the shop gathers the claim information and refers the details on, the owner will need to check if they fall under the exemptions or need to be authorised"
So you'd assume that purchasing advertising space on a website would follow the same logic.
However, you never know!

From memory, I think there was a separate section relating to the internet and any website carrying any adverts (even Adsense-type ones) had to have the MOJ registration.
I'm off out to a school governors meeting (3 hours in a hot classroom - poor kids in there across the heat of the day!), but when I get back I'll have a re-read.

I've been offered low/mid £x,xxx for no win no fee .org.uk literally a week ago.
The value is to people with MOJ or SRA regulation like myself. Not domainers...
Frank is correct, I'm referring to the value of the traffic .

Hello chaps.
Since none of us want to get our wrists slapped for breaking the law, I contacted the claims regulation people to clarify the situation w.r.t registering websites.
I was told that if you have a website that sells advertising to solicitors, etc, where someone on your site can click the link and go directly to the solicitors site (so a bit like yellow pages, or a directory where it's just advertising being offered to the solicitors), then you don't need to register.
You would only need to register where you for example have a contact form that people seeking a claim fill in with their details & situation, or where you get paid for each actual referal.
My site will be offering them advertising (I gave the example of £100 per month), and that's fine, doesn't need to be registered.
I hope someone finds that useful.
