Is there such a beast as .travel???

If so this is the first I've seen, I searched "hull domain names" in Google and this popped up.

No it's not a great ext and don't want a can of worms opening but just thought i'd say hey I've seen one now.

Never heard of it until you posted it, I then Googled this:

.Travel

.travel is an Internet domain specifically for the travel and tourism industry. You may be most familiar with other Internet domains such as .com, .org, .co.uk, however .travel is unique in the fact that is it industry specific.

Any participant in the travel and tourism industry can own a .travel domain name. The only requirement is that a website with content relevant to the domain name must be up within one year of registration.

Travel's been around for a while now... I had a look when it first started up, but the rules were too strict to get a domain, plus too expensive...

There are a few like this you don't see very often:

.coop
.jobs
.museum
etc

I was very surprised to see that the co-op have started to advertise co-operative.coop on their television ads lately

Thats been around for a few years now and I understand that you have to fill certain criteria to get one.

Waste of time if you ask me, just like .org.uk and me.uk etc
