In the past few days i had lots of critics on my domains which i'm grateful cause at least i know where did i go wrong. So i've done a bit of a research and i can see that keywords with an average 5000 local search can be quite valuable. So i bought this: caloriesburned.co.uk
It has a 4400 local and 40.500 global. Is that the right way to go? Or is it still far from good?

Thanks

It's much better than your other domains, and there's definitely some (small) value in it in my opinion.
What are you planning on doing with it?

IMHO its worth sticking a Wordpress or similar diet/fitness site on it and getting some Adsense going. Should pay for itself until you decide to sell later

Could be a good one to develop and promote a product that increases calorie burn, such as Capsiplex through MoreNiche

I think it is a decent domain but until it is developed I don't see much value.

Just to try and help ... it's not got much if any value as a domain alone IMO ... just not commercial enough. If you are new and looking to trade domains, then just reg a few and then try and sell them, it will open your eyes to the fact that domains may be much harder to sell than you thought.

Rgds

Thanks! Great advices...i might keep it and do as you guys mentioned.

First of all, you need to decide what you want to do with the domain. Develop or resell ?
For development, you should preferably focus on niches you're familiar with.
For resale, it's different. You need to figure out if there is any potential demand (buyers) for the domain. Search volume in itself is hardly a meaningful criterion. There are many other metrics, and the metrics alone do not make up domain value.

Now I think one has some advertising potential and brandability so that's an improvement. If the name is easy to spell and remember, is brandable, and has an obvious use it's already a start.
