Sorry doesn't the BI hub (bi.nominet.org.uk) give data for activity on your own TAG only?
Yes but also give comparisons against the whole registry so you can benchmark your activity.

https://bi.nominet.org.uk/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard under "renewals" you can select "Compare with .uk Register"
.uk renewal rate.
Nov 2011 66.07%
Dec 2011 68.38%
Sep 2012 65.48%
Oct 2012 65.34%
Nov 2012 64.90%
Dec 2012 61.87%
Dec 2012 renewal rate of 61.87% is the lowest in the past three years (didn't go back further).
As the domain name takes 92 days to drop with 30 or so days of renewal reminders, I would think their has been a decline in .uk renewals.
Thanks, but I can't see registration activity of the Registry in there.
Would be good if Nominet just published the stats like http://dnc.org.nz/content/2012-11_stats.html
I'm looking at the PDF report I get sent every month which has loads of comparisons.

Well good for you then, don't share will you.
The most vocal opposition comes from those seeking to preserve business models based on creating IPR in domain names to sell to the highest bidder. There are, however, also a number of practical issues to be addressed and some genuine concerns over the small print and the implementation plans.
Some might be surprised that according to my latest business intelligence report from Nominet the November registration stats and renewal rates are little changed from previous months. No sign of any measurable effect caused by the .UK proposals there.
Stephen.

After seeing the number below I do believe their is a seed change in .co.uk renewals rate being reduced.
Although I accept the Google changes will add to the decline I believe the biggest factor to be Nominet's action in its handling of .uk.
As for saying they may be renewed later that is going to be the case for earlier months, where it is stated a 65% renewal and maybe 25% of the non renewals get renewed later, I would imagine that number for previous months will decrease so only say 15% get renewed.
That would surely start the reversal trend of growth of .co.uk.
If only Nominet would be more tranparent!

Most recent I've seen was the JANET response on December 24 http://www.mydomainnames.co.uk/articles.html
Nominet sent out a very bland reminder email recently but zero new info in it.
I was also reminded that suspending a domain is likely to mean it can’t send or receive e-mails, so registrants will need to have an e-mail address in some other domain to tell Nominet that they have fixed the problem!
I disagree that the renewal rate would be more affected by .uk than by Google's ranking changes. Certainly in my case, the names I'm dropping are the ones which no longer have the same appeal based on reduced ranking potential.
