.uk v .co.uk v pair on dropped .co.uk

Although I don't actively drop catch as much as I did, I still have a few domains UK domains on watch.

I was wondering if others have found the same pattern, I'm coming across.

When a .co.uk drops it is the .uk that is getting registered and unless it is a high value string the .co.uk remains unregistered.

I have yet to see a .co.uk being caught and the .uk remaining unregistered.

The conclusion of this is the .uk is more popular and desired for catchers
and the .co.uk is only getting caught on higher value strings, probably after the .uk is registered.

I'm seeing the opposite, all I see are .co.uk's being caught and the .uk also being caught at the same time, but in quite a few instance the .uk isn't being taken.

I haven't as yet seen a single example where the .co.uk dropped and wasn't caught, but the .uk was.

I'm seeing 1-2 domainers registering only the .uk, and 2-3 taking only the .uk (these are instances where the other is left TFR, not where both are caught by different people.

The majority are going for both tho.

There's no reason not to go for both when you can have up to 4 epp connections open....?
