I was listening to the adverts on TV and heard the term rush poker.

Sadly I typed it in and yes registered, but the whois shows a privacy text similar to the ones you see on .com's, and no registrant type.

Is this allowed, and if so, how do you do it?

well, they have a po box address, which isnt that secret as you can ring post office and ask who owner is, they have to tell you

and i would say registrant info is inaccurate. against nominet rules

when they reg domain they just have that in field for owner
if there was a drs how woul;d you prove you were 'your domain privacy', unless a company. also registrant is 'unknown' which is also not according to rules

there is no privacy for .uk names

only thing you could do is put 'domain administrator' company name, then use po box if want to be private

Interesting, you can't even tell who the registrant type is. Does this mean a (company) registrant has found a way to circumvent Nominets' T&Cs? Also, if you were thinking of filing a DRS regarding this type of domain, how could you check first to see if the registrant also has rights in the name before you file?

You cant do it. Send Nominet an email and they will have it corrected (or suspend the name)

Registrant type is not a required field.

Its own uk domain has no registrant type, does this not have to be ltd company?

Like I said, Regsitrant Type is not a mandatory field, you can leave it blank and it will default to 'unknown'. As Nominet hasn't made it a required field for registrations then I'm guessing they're not breaking any rules, could be wrong though.

As for the original issue, the whois has now changed. Safenames appear to be registering the domains to their own limited company on behalf of the client. No Idea how that sits with Nominets terms.
