I've just been looking at some url shorteners, and noticed there's similarities between the page layout of these two:

Can anyone shed some light on where they get their scripts from?

Just wondering whether to develop url.uk as a shortener.
Seems there are a number of options. Just need a few more hrs in the day!

There are so many url shorteners out there already, it's hard to see where the money will come from - especially since some of the providers offer advanced stats and analytics, and other features.

Also, it's a great url (for techies) but I'm not sure the average person in the street knows what a "url" is any more. I think they think of them as "web addresses" if they think of them at all.

I ran a url shortening service. You need to be aware of what your service gets used for and if you are going to be able to practically monitor it. I considered url.co.uk a while back.. but had something shorter

I thought of running a url shortener but too much competition. Also average people don't trust shorteners.

Would url.uk be focused on "British links"? Have you thought of selling domains on Url.uk?
