Using US based registration companies....

Any one in the UK have any bad experineces with no-uk registrars.

I use 1&1 which are very expensive, but at least I'm in the same country as they are so I can sue them if things go wrong.

I have been tempted to try US based registrars like GoDaddy because they are cheaper, but if things go wrong there is nothing I can do.

Do most people here use US registrars?

I use GoDaddy for my .com domains, they've been good so far.

They give you plenty of warning on renewals so I would hope it would never come to legal action, and even then, I don't see why the fact they are in America would prevent you taking action (although I'm no expert here).
