I think the first paragraph is a big mistake - basically admiting that hes monetizing of the back of a established business via typos etc, and then hiding behind some dodgy charity donation thing hacked together..

The more interesting side to this story is the fact that he claims to have developed the software behind Twitter

Don't see that there. He developed some software for blind people that
that is an accronym - Talking Wordprocessor, Internet, Typing Tutor, Email Resource

You are right. I misread that part. I read it as the .com was used to promote his software. Ooops.
