Wanted: Domain We are back for more names........

Hi All



So far we have used Acorn Domains for two reasons



1) We have asked for advice 3 times and got next to NO help, I found this surprising as others ask for help everyday and get loads? Is it me you don’t like or am I missing something?

2) We post asking to buy domains, for this we receive lots and lots.



Sorry to start with a moan but it annoyed me a little!!



Rant over.





A few months ago I posted asking for any service + London names, this worked really well for me.





I’m back for more but this time not just London!





Do you have any service + location domains you don’t use and probably won’t?

Budget from £1 -£100 unless there is a name that is worth more than this then our budget will increase appropriately. This sounds silly, I appreciate that but if you look at what we have bought you will know that our business is not determined by a "budget"

What about the FTR domain I PMed you saving your boss £200

I assume your refering to the affiliate marketing threads? Although there are some experienced affiliate marketers on the forum it's primarily a domain forum... I never find that many replies when aff questions come up

When typing this post I was thinking of you Ben, also Stephen from really usefull domains who also helped me with that same question, You did put me in my boss's good books with that one thanks.


I suppose your rite about the aff questions, I should really join a forum for aff marketing and ask there. suppose that in itself is good advice Ben.

I did ask advice on selling some of my names the other day and got no help bey thats how it goes I suppose

I try to be as helpful as possible in affiliate marketing threads but there is only so much you can do.

I'm not surprised you've had better response on threads like this, you've done your research and stated what you want along with budget.

Looking to buy domains, we have criteria, price range and cash = good response
Want to monetise site, done no research ourselves = bad response

Don't think it's down to just the fact you are spending money, it's how much effort you make too. If you can't be bothered, why should anyone else?

I was going to develop into a what's on guide for Chester in Cheshire uk, one of the wealthier areas of the UK
I was also considering doing the same with the .com for one of the US Chesters

You’re correct; I’m bound to get a good response when dangling pound notes in front of domain sellers.

What I don’t get is the statement saying “done no research ourselves” I don’t remember ever speaking of dealing with yourself so forgive me for wondering “why does this guy think I don’t do my own research” I do actually do research.

Then you say: “it's how much effort you make too. If you can't be bothered, why should anyone else?” are you winding me up?

Do you think I’m Lazy?
Do you think I’m on my backside asking people to do everything for me??
How can you come up with these assumptions???

Then again how would you know the answer to the above 3 questions considering you know nothing about me.

I have been nothing but friendy to everyone I have spoke to on Acorn,

Im sure people reading this who I have delt with will agree with me, that I am friendly I speak with people on here all the time and never once had an issue.

I do feel annoyed when someone tells me im lazy and I dont put any effort in.... someone who has no idea who I am!

If by my rant I make no more friends so be it, I will say what I think and if you don't like what I say don't read my post.

I just had a quick scan through the threads you have started to see why you weren't getting as good a response.

Thread titles such as "Help!" and "What next, please help?" are not going to get as good a response as a proper, descriptive thread title, such as "Good GEO domains wanted", or the enticing "I'm looking to spend"

I then looked at your threads, "What next, please help?" was about trying to monetise domains and how to do it.

That's a pretty big area to cover and as you've not mentioned any methods or services you have looked into, or researched, then it's a pretty big job for the person looking to help.

I'm not saying you're lazy and don't research, I'm just giving you some ideas as to why you might not be getting the response you are looking for.

I like posting on affiliate marketing threads, but someone posting to ask how to monetise a domain is something that can be researched pretty easily. If you then asked for thoughts or experiences on a particular method you may then get more advice.

Just wanted to say i have dealt with "domain giant" and have found the experience a very good one both on here and on the phone.

I have BasingstokeBroadband.co.uk if thats any good? population of.......hhhmmmm many thousands and a cpc of £7.28 and is on the 1st page of google?
