Is this the end of mobile phone contracts

I could not believe my eyes today on Three the Nokia N97 £369.99 pay as you go with FREE skype and a lot more besides

Vodafone buys in the Nokia at £347 and does not offer it on pay as you go

I know all the jokes about Three But i have no complaints with them always had a signal and saved me a fortune through skype

All i can say if you like the phone BUY it now before they put the price up

And no i dont work for Three

Just a small comment - N97 has a potentially disappointing CPU. Google for it. Mind you, it equates to good battery life, but poor video playback etc. Just what I've read -- YMMV. Staying with my iPhone and E90 just for now.

They are always competitive on price. It seems they have quite an aggressive price policy to attract customers.

Re the signal, have you travelled throughout the UK a lot and still get a good signal everywhere?

Rgds

I do travel the uk and have been to some places that the signal was better with three so i can say that they are no better or worst than other networks

I love being on the 3 network, i use the net on my phone a lot and it's by far the best internet signal for a phone, plus with free Skype calls you can't go wrong.

It was only a matter of time

Three have put the price of the N97 up to £499.99 on pay as you go :(

back in the day when I had a Three handset - they operator(s) told me they used O2s network - not sure how much it's all changed (3/4 years ago)

I'll never go back to Three - I had a problem with my handset it was just crackling all the time. I sent it back for 'repair' as they never used to exchange handsets just repair them. It came back 3/4 days later had the same problem. In about 3/4 months I sent it back 7 times - same outcome including to their head office recorded delivery but they still f*cked me offand sent it back (after numerous letters/complaints). I canceled payment etc and it just got so messy. They were an awful company back then, had terrible products and reception I'd never recommend or go with them :( - have been PAYG since
