What makes a good typo a good typo ?

Ive seen a domain name that you could remove the last letter , add the letters to the end that are next to the correct letter and they are all available, my typo is based on the user missing off the last letter or typing in the last letter incorrectly. the real domain name as 8 letters.co.uk

the search term has

Local 135,000 global 60,500 with a 1.70 click

and the term has a website that sells a product.

if the figures above dont add up , what kind of numbers should i be looking at for a good typo

would it be worth setting up a mini site that chats about a similar product with google adsense and perhaps a few affiliates ?

I don't personally think that to much type in traffic is created by typos and I know if i accidentally type the wrong address then I simply nav away, I think your bounce rate would be high.

Also depends because if you're on about type in traffic then like I said people would nav away.
Exacts make no difference with type ins.

If your referring to search results then Google usually says '' did you mean ''
eg, car insurance instead of carinsurancr < note an r instead of e , these keys are next to each other.

Hi Doodle , the name is something like :- catsfood.co.uk , the typo would be catsfoo.co.uk , or perhaps catsfoos.co.uk catfoof.co.uk .

So it would be based on someone typing in the domain name rather than a search .

If you're going to give it a try then you should go for something like insurance, loans or bets, things which pay good.

If you think how small the amount is of people typing in a typo minus the amount who nav away minus the amount who decide not to buy and on a low value product such as cat food then you would be lucky to cover your reg fee.

Go for loans and bets etc, check out the affiliate programmes

As doodlebug says, a good typo is one that Google doesn't say "did you mean".

This'll sound like I'm trying to push one of my sales threads, but an example of this is "Chiwawa". There are 40k Exact searches in Google for the word, compared to 60k Exact searches for the correct spelling of "Chihuahua", so there's a high percentage of searches for the mis-spelling. Google does not attempt to correct the spelling.

Ahhhh , thats good to know , its good to know how to qualify if a typo is good , the knowing about googles do you mean is good as well , the typo i found was purely uselful if someone type into the address bar the actual typo as opposed to a search.
