What MSSQL Front End Software Solution

I have a MSSQL database (not MySQL) that I want to build a front-end to allow novice users to run basic search queries and reports.

What is the best tool to use to build something with?

Are you saying what is it best to code in and what development tool to use?

If I had to work with MSSQL and code in ASP.net I would look at:

Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition - Free

Maybe a Reporting product from Telerik:

Reporting Tool for .Net - Telerik

That said I've now switched over to PHP, so I'm not really up on ASP.net anymore.
