I think when you purchase a domain its based on it future potential

so unless we take a look at what the potential is of a domain into a site

is, how are we ever going to leverage our assets to there true potential


after all we have all bought domains for a reason

surely the easiest but most boring way to gauge would be to work out the average basket value of diamond goods from retailers with affiliate progs, work out the % commission then based on the search volumes assume some conversion rates...

forecasting is just guess work... the more informed the better lol

Personally I'd have a gut feeling anyway and put a nice site up on it before trying to monetise it, get it ranked just off page 1 then go do a deal with a retailer like cooldiamonds or someone that gets awesome press and try turn the site into a proper merchant site.

With stocks, share's etc There are pretty standerdised foumulars for calculating the value now and in the future, The appropriate information is critical to the exercise, and the use of incorrect or no information would more than often make the results meaningless.

With a domain name on its own no site, no figures, no revenue, no traffic no basic relevent information a standard foumula used would simply not work..? (the varibles are different) You might be able to adapt a formula used but could be a tricky exercise ? If somebody did and it worked they should become quite wealthy....
