Company pay for its own name do you think ?. I happened to take a .com domain seome years ago and now see that a company with capital of US$1 Billion is establishing itself. What do you reckon I could squeeze out of them ?.

If it's genuinely generic and they didn't have a prior trademark, a LOT. Get a professional into the negotiations, if they approach you.

Get hold of their accounts and look at the advertsing spend over a couple of years. That would give you an indication on what increase in budget they are prepared for

Yep will do thanks. In fact I just managed to buy a related .com for,wait for it.....US$29 . Lol, I asked the guy whether he'd sell thinking really I didnt have a cat in hells chance, but he came back "$29.00 plus transfer "(.com) . Nope they havent got any trademark on it at all but is not really pure generic, just made up.

Yep ,well in fact its a large company starting this new company that theyre going to invest $1BN in ,apparently. Anyway will wait and see and maybe try get accounts in meanwhile.

Well :) there is a possibility that if the name of the company is a TM, you could squeeze your arse instead of money. Please do not take pun intention or offense. hehehe
 
Could buying the second domain be a bad thing?? May look like you're buying it with the sole intention of selling the first to them?? If you had the first domain prior to them forming there must have been a valid reason for you to buy that one?? So I'd just stick to that.
