Hi All,
Looking for your advice please. Which domain should I use for my main domain sales site.
Digital-Asset (com and co.uk)
or
KeywordDomainNames ( net)

This would be the domain I use to for enduser sales emails, general domain info and for whois email address.
I think both are relatively fit for purpose (please let me know if you think other wise.) But downsides are one is a hyphen and the other a .net..
Domains I am selling are keywords in a number of different gtlds, stldsw and cctlds including .co.uk.

What would you use if given the choice.

Thankyou in advance.

I am no expert and I am sure you will receive more advice but if it was me I would go with digital-asset, the broads and exacts are higher and with a cpc of £11 plus you might pick up the odd commission. If I am reading you right you are selling names in world markets so the com and uk are ideal. The net ext is fine too but why limit yourself to keyword domain names?

Just my two pence worth.

I wouldn't use either. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the first - unless my portfolio was made up of mostly keyword .net domains.

Keyworddomainnames.net is, as already pointed out, rather restrictive. Would work OK in .com/.co.uk but on .net it just looks inferior and gives off the wrong impression.

If you expect people to stump up large amounts of cash for "premium" domains, the least you can do is use a decent domain to showcase them. For a portfolio sales site, for me, it would have to be unhyphenated something.com or .co.uk, preferably both.

GoodKeywordDomains is available in .com and .co.uk - it's a little long, but will cost you very little of course. Searching the phrase on Google brings back the results you'll be looking for.

Good luck!

Digital-Asset (com and co.uk) - I wouldn't use this because of the hyphen. It would reflect poorly on you because you can't get hold of the unhyphenated.

KeywordDomainNames ( net) - This is what I would go with, I use quite a similar name myself. OK, it is a bit generic and you lose uniqueness and potential brand identity, but if you are going to contact end users yourself, brandability doesn't really matter. I think your name is good enough and there's no need to secure a top notch domain just for your portfolio site. As long as you do good marketing, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, on here, other forums, contact end users, you'll be fine.

In summary, what I am saying is that domains don't sell themselves, so having a good name for your portfolio site is only a very small part of the equation.

Thankyou everyone for your input. Will decide at the weekend.
I did have a .com one worder previously but stopped using it after I had received interest in it. Typically not had any interest shown since... And since it was through sedo have not been able to follow up with previous offers.

Also, another thought. When you are trying to sell a name, the actual "brand" you are promoting is the domain you are trying to sell. You market the name as a potential brand. The name of your portfolio site is somewhat secondary IMO.
