I'm giving AdWords a go for one of my higher-end domains. I just have a "this domain is for sale" lander with a bit of sales spiel.

I tried that, I didn't sell anything. Mind you, it might work for others or on other domains. The best way to do an adword domain sale would be to set up the domain you're selling and put products on it using affiliate marketing. That way you don't lose out, then one in 1000 might actually be interested in the domain rather than the product they're looking for. I didn't do the latter.
