Hi

Could someone point me in the direction of where I find the authorization code for transfering my .com domain away from 123reg to godaddy?

Many thanks.

Do you have control of the email that's registered with the .com? When you start transfer that's where code gets automatically sent. And it needs to be properly set up email not forwarded, as forwarding sees code removed due to security.

Yes, I have the email from godaddy with the Transaction ID and Security Code, and when I do the Transfer Authorization within godaddy, I need the Authorization Code from 123reg - I cannot find this within my 123reg login panel, and 123reg take days to email you back and cost a fortune to call.

I have had problems transfering away from 123reg before with this code, and I cannot remember what they said in the generic email they finally send you. Does it point you anywhere on their site to find it, as there help section doesn't inform you of what you need.

Cheers

Hi Paulc,

There is no way around this; unlike almost every other registrar, you can't get the auth-code through the website, you have to e-mail them.

Might be better to fax them for the code rather than email, rumour has it that they actually reply to faxes ;)
