I've just spent well over an hour trawling through every section of my Nominet tag account, looking for my address to update to a new one, but I cannot see my address listed anywhere in my account. I can't find anything on the main Nominet site help section, and a Google search gave me nothing, apart from the video below which I though solved it, as it shows where to change your contact details in the Registrant Domain Manager section:

That has obviously changed since the video was made, because there is no arrow to click where it says there is in the video.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

Not sure exactly which one you are looking to update, but I have just looked on Nominet to see if I can help.

From the main dashboard in the "Account Settings" section box there is "Edit addresses" which has two tabbed sections for main account addresses and also tag addresses including admin and billing.

Also back on the main dashboard again in the top ".UK Registrar" section box click "Tag settings" and then "Public details" on the left menu, has listed your publicly facing information including address.

Hopefully that helps?

Thanks, Mat,

I'll check that when I get my laptop, but I think I saw those parts and it was mostly showing just address for voting, billing and admin etc, anything else on pages I checked where there was an edit button, it only gave option to change email address, phone and something else that I can't think of at the moment.

I'm specifically looking to change my address that shows in the Whois, that's the address I can't find listed anywhere.

To change or hide the registrant's address, you can modify the domain's contact in the Web Domain Manager. Near the bottom of the form, there's an option to hide public information which will prevent your name and address from being disclosed. Alternatively, you can update the address.

To update the public information for your Nominet tag, there's a section under Tag Settings > Public Details.

Following on from Alan, if it is the address associated with each or multiple domain names within the web domain manager, I just checked the video you posted and it is still up to date with the sections. I checked in my own account and the address is there to edit.

Thanks @alan and @mat, laptop going on soon and will report back later if I get a result 🙂

I think the Web Domain Manager is just for modifying a domain contact for a single domain, I don't want to change the address for a single domain, I want to change my address for my whole tag account, after going to Web Domain Manager, I then go to Manage Domains, next to my domain name under the "Registered To" column, theres my name and a number that's a link, clicking that takes me to the next page where there's a "Modify" button, that does show the address that's in the Whois, but if I change that, I'm sure that only changes the address for that domain only, not all other domains, and not the address for my actual tag.

Just checked that Registrant Domain Manager page again, and yes, there is now an arrow next to 2 domains with the ability to edit the contact details, but I no longer own either of the domains listed, sold those ages ago, but it appears the new owners haven't updated the registrant details.

I moved all domains out of my Nominet tag to Dynadot, but had to move one domain back yesterday, that domain isn't showing on the Registrant Domain Manager page, but as per my reply to Alan above, I think changing contact details there only changes it for the domain name you modify the contact details for.

Probaly best if I email Nominet tomorrow as I'm just going round in circles and not even sure what I'm doing now lol :), I though there would be a simple thing like change/update the address for your Nominet tag, but it appears not.

There is a domain manager for your tag and also a domain manager for all other of your domains.

When it comes to the contact and address details for each domain name it can be a bit frustrating as you can often have many duplicated contacts applied to them. So with one domain name it may just edit it for that name, but with another it may say something like "changing this contact will update 50 domains"

Not sure if it's the sort of merge you mean, but if you click Web Domain Manager, on the next page is a Manage Contacts button. [Edit, beaten by Alan]

If you update the address information for that contact, those changes will be reflected in the WHOIS for all domains under that contact. As @mat mentioned, you might have duplicate contacts for your domains, but they can be merged for easier management. You can access contacts through the domain (as you've done), or manage contacts directly through the Web Domain Manager.

You could simply turn off public disclosure of the contact/registrant name and address if that's your concern.

Ok, I'll try that and update the address details for the single domain I have left on my tag.

I don't have any concern regarding disclosing contact/registrant name, I set that to show by default on Nominet years ago, it's just that I've decided that my move back to the UK is now permanent, so I need to update my address to my UK address.

One of the main reasons I set the Whois to show my details by default is, because Sedo always ask you to show your details in the Whois after they've removed domains from your account, and when you add them back in, they want to see the full details to make sure you're still the same registrant.

I don't have any duplicate contacts, I've only ever had those when accepting a domain released to my tag from another tag, I used to add the previous registrants name as a connected name for the duration of the transfer, then went to Merge Contacts and merged domains on to my tag, then removed the connected name.

You can merge contacts in the Manage Contacts area.

Thanks, but I have only ever seen this option for domains on my tag. In the web domain manager for all other domains I could never see this option...

I've updated the address on the single domain on my Nominet tag, now awaiting validation from Nominet and will probably need to upload passport and proof of address.

Thanks for the help, I haven't looked at my Nominet account for a long while so I'm a bit rusty, but going forward, now I've changed the address on that 1 domain, all other domains caught/registered will have the same address, I think, either that or I'll just merge contacts on any domain that doesn't have the address and then they will have.
