Today I was looking for something on G. When I do that, I also check domains availibility. Interestingly enough, for more than 5K UK exacts only .com and .co.uk are taken.

Now if I find this for any good keyword in B2B I go for all .net, .org and .org.uk. But in this case I am a bit lost.

Keyword is very UK specific, easy to monetize, 5.5K steady exacts, decent CPC...

Which one would you reg?

Personally if the .com and .co.uk are gone, 99.9% of the time I wouldn't bother.

In many cases I would second that, but .com is parked, .co.uk semi-developed and keyword is easy to monetize. Not for flip but for quick aff site. Don't know...

Only register it if you WILL develop it IMMEDIATELY, not if you PLAN to develop it SOMETIME. Otherwise you'll eventually end up with hundreds (or thousands) of idle domains, each registered with great intentions but in the end just clocking up renewal fees year after year...

(The above applies to speculating on lesser extensions such as .org.uk, .org and so on - if it's a great commercial keyphrase and the .co.uk is available then that's resale material down the road just as it is, even undeveloped)

I already have 20-30 in the pipeline... Can't think about adding one more ... on Friday night :D

BTW, in B2B I have tons of .net's ranking above .com's for my clients, so it's not a problem. Thanks anyway! I'll give it another thought...
