I've yet to see an appraisal service output worth the money, other than Acorn's forum output.
I commissioned one 'pro' appraisal on a .co.uk an age ago - the service's script churned some banal output, including three germanword.de's for comparison. I doubt a human was involved in the process anywhere.
The flaw in the business model of appraisal services is that they give you one opinion on value - for which there is no right or wrong figure - there is only opinion (and whatever you can actually, in the real world, swing a deal for). Even upper-lower bound valuations are based on a single opinion.
Posting on the forum gives you access to multiple points of view from people who, between them must have sold ten+ thousands of domains. And its cheaper.
If you get no responses on a posting it maybe indicative of worth - i.e. not much. Its also worth reading through other appraisal threads - a similar .co.uk one may help you without wasting bandwidth.
Remember to include the DN in the subject - wise eyes are jaundiced by, and will always skip "Subj: CHECK-OUT AND VALUE MY GREAT DOMAIN!" crap - insults the reader.
