DomainLore Auction WifiBooster.co.uk (+ .uk rights) (40,500 GKT exacts)

Looks like a decent attempt at an "average person" solution, by providing hardware that is essentially plug in and forget... It's always been possible to boost Wifi using specialised boosters and/or multiple routers but the concept was relatively complicated. I think I saw another company coming out with a similar product, so maybe that's a new trend...

(If you think about it, this sort of simplification happened with things like streaming video - used to have fairly complex boxes, then slightly simpler boxes, and now you have Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick and Google Chromecast which just about anyone can cope with)

BTW, you can see this all ties in with a rising interest in "wifi booster" on Google Trends...

The other thing I like about that solution is how easy it is to invite people onto the network - which is normally a pain in the ass!

If I hadn't already solved our dead spots with a pair of Asus RT-N66U it's something I might have considered, since there's only one thing to dislike about it: the price!

Anyway, thanks for the link - I'll keep an eye on it to see if it gradually gets cheap enough to recommend to non-geeky people.
