Windows Vista problems!

Just got my new laptop and trying to configure outlook, god damn its a pain in the rear, setup everything the same and for some reason it wont connect to check (send/receive) emails.. also its not letting firefox use the internet lol . I have added them both as "allowed" in windows firewall.. can anyone offer some advice.. and not 'get XP or mac' lol!

Is it coming up with a specific error?

Is the internet working in IE?

Hi Ben - IE is working fine can browse and search no probs.
Outlook error code is
0x8004210B

Are you having problems sending emails and recieving them?
Some outgoing email servers need Authentication. Is this option enabled?

Yes the problem is with sending/receiving emails. Have got exactly the same settings as previous and outgoing server authentication is enabled, just doesnt seem to be connecting

I am using Mozilla Thunderbird for e-mail on my new Vista laptop because I found Outlook 2007 too slow and bloatware like. It's a very simple mail client but I'm not regretting it so far.

Lol i found out why it wasnt working. I had 2 firewalls up, windows and McAfee, couldnt get into mcafee until it was updated then found out it was blocking outlook and firefox !! All sorted now
