Hello,

I have few spots available on my PR4 insurance related site.

* PR4
* Plenty of PR3 inner pages
* Only unique articles are published on this site
* Few OBL.

Prices for homepage only or sitewide link - £55/6m or £90/year

Prices for articles:

£26 - You provide one unique article with your link in it.
£31 - My writer will write the article around your link.

In case you are interested - PM me for URL.

Regards

Some friendly advice; you are undervaluing your links. You should be looking at starting at £30/month minimum for your niche with decent content.

I think you mean over valuing his links :p

You don't judge a links value off the silly pagerank toolbar.

I think you value it by how much people are prepared to pay.
If the OP has been inundated by people it is probably undervalued. If he's had no takers then, for the users of this board it may be overvalued.

I use industry averages, historical averages, PageRank, SEOmoz scores and backlink analysis to determine link value. In this case, it's undervalued.

The link buying industry is a lot more measurable than the domain name industry - there are plenty of standards, and if buying via an agency people will pay 3 or 4 times that amount. Often it's not a case of what people think they should pay, it's what they are advised to pay.

Interesting. :)

What's the going rate then for PR3 and PR4 links then? I have quite a few of these, perhaps I'll go into link selling. :D

Well, depends on the niche, but £20-£30/month for PR4 in my experience. More if you have high quality content, a high traffic site or you offer advertising and a paid link together (e.g. dofollow banner ad). Also more if you hunt down some agencies who don't negotiate on price the way individual website owners will. And if you have multiple sites you can do 'discounts' and sell more that way - good for getting links on those with lower PR.

If you do it well with a good number of sites you can end up with a nice mailing list. Then all you need to do is catch some names with PR, link them properly and add to your stock...before emailing your list with new, 'limited-time-only' opportunities. Definitely better to focus on getting the value of a few up rather than having loads of 3/4 level though.

Using PR as a metric for the value of a backlink is terrible, especially using it to try and assign financial value.

Any decent internet marketer knows that.

Oh and aswel as that sitewide links? they wreak of seo spam. No one with any sense would buy sitewide.

For advertising and traffic purposes I agree. Also, PR on its own isn't the best metric, agreed. But it's still the single most common value for link sellers and buyers to use, it's pretty standard.

Site-wide links are by far the most effective, G won't pick them up unless it's been notified specifically about a site or there are ridiculous numbers of site-wide links on a site. Even then I've seen sites with over 400 links in a huge footer that haven't been penalised. When you're dealing with high value sites, you need site-wide links because a single link on its own is a drop in the ocean unless it's PR9 or 10.

There are plenty of cases where site-wide links are genuine and not spammy at all, for example most web designers include a link in the footer when they create designs. Many people include a link to social profiles in their sidebar, which outside of the obvious big sites, may be smaller ones like ColourLovers.

Obviously no extreme is good. But site-wide links really speed up link building and don't have to be unnatural.

Even though I prefer "homepage only" links (in-content as well) - saying that all sitewide links are spam is just wrong.

If that was the case - all I had to do to bring down my competition is to buy sitewide links for their site and google will punish them??? (or add them on my biggest sites that have over 1000 indexed pages)...

It all depends on which site you add your links of course....

Regarding "over valuing" my links.

That is your opinion and I respect that. I have dealt with many SEO companies and private owners to know how much I can ask for my site. If you can find a site similar to mine (Pr4, only unique articles, many PR3 inner pages, insurance related and less then 4 OBL for much cheaper price - good for you).

I am also curious - have you even seen my site? (just yes or no - don´t publish the URL here if you have seen it).
