You can still go a long way with public catchers

This is something of a follow-up to a thread I posted a couple of months back...

It's interesting to see how much the public catchers collectively can manage to get as long as you book the slots early enough. In September 2010, I went after 141 names in total across the various drop-catch partners I work with.

Of those 141 names, 47 were renewed at the last minute. Out of the remaining 94 domains, I picked up 65. That's a 69% success rate!

Not sure what you mean by "circulate the drop list intelligence"?

Of course some of my picks are better than others! But I'm happy with what I got, including names such as airconditioninginstallation/couk, cctvsecuritysystem/couk, fretlessbass/couk, hotelamenities/couk, jewellerydesigner/couk, odometer/couk, scientificjournals/couk and socialnetworking/couk...

Most of the effort in drop catching is researching lists and making picks.

If your particular drop lists were known to others, I'm sure that success rate would drop.

It's a contentious issue of what people view as a valuable domain, so the 30? or so drop catchers have a great deal of variation on what gets loaded and caught each day.
