I am sure everyone gets silly offers. Thought I would kick off a thread. One I received couple of days ago for a three letter.

"I don't suppose you would consider parting with it for a free t-shirt and a sticker?"

I had the message of

"I think the only ethical option for you, whoever you are, is to give us the domain free"

For a decent three letter... :)

Just last week, I got an offer of 25 pounds "Which would make you more than 100% profit on your registration cost" for a very marketable highly generic commercial keyphrase.

And then there are infinite variations on "I can't pay more than X [tiny tiny number] because Y [stupid reason] so sell me the domain". How many students/startup employees/unemployed people etc. walk into art galleries and say "Hey, I can't afford 20,000 pounds for the painting but sell it to me for 30 pounds because I'm a student/etc."? None, right? Yet that's the approach too many people take to buying a domain...

I am sick and tired of silly offers being made to me and it is not only from general members of the public but from speculators trying to make a quick few quid.

Had an offer the other day that best case would leave me £20 net

I've recently got so sick and tired of silly low price offers through sedo, basically just fishing for prices, that I've actually started putting higher reserve prices on names to sift out the timewasters.

Ive had one too. £30 for my highest traffic puller on Sedo.

"I cant see that its worth more than £30"

-I can. Its taken more that that in 30 days and its for your -very well known- client!

As soon as people leave me comments like "I can't see the typeins and overture justifying your asking price" on Sedo, I automatically cancel negotiations as that screams "reseller" and I know it will be a waste of time trying to extract end-user value. Been getting more and more such "insider" comments recently... I think there are a lot of us looking for secondary market bargains
