Hi all,

I know a bit about UK companies legislation, so this is something that's been at the back of my mind for a while.

I'm currently pursuing a moneyclaimonline case against 1&1 for the domains they deactivated... If it doesn't go through successfully I'm going to apply for a Winding Up Order (only 55GBP) - this will cause immense negative publicity (it has to be made public in the Gazette) and should make public their activities.

I feel this is the only way to get these people brought to task.

If anyone had tried to get back their money from 1&1 and failed, PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP. I will need your experience as evidence for the petition.

Here is some more info if interested: http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/guidanceleaflets/dealingwithdebt/howtowindupacompany.htm

Regards, d.;)

Ive just skimmed that link you gave..

It seems to state that the company does not have the resources to pay debts, but you mention they let a few domains lapse, is that correct? Perhaps these domains are worth a million pounds each, in which case perhaps 1and1 cannot afford to buy them back for you? Otherwise it doesnt sound like you can apply to wind the company up as they probably do have the resources to settle any debts and buy you your names back (assuming they've been re-registered)..

Have i read it right....

Usually it's for companies that can't pay a debt, but it can also be used when they refuse to pay...

What happened to me is that they detagged hundreds of domains I held, which I had paid for, so in essence, they cheated me out of the money I paid....

1 and 1 are complete dicks, i would love them to get some bad publicity. go for it as long as they cant challenge it and hit you with a legal bill.

i will have agood look at link myself as may do the same for barclays with their refusal to refund illegal charges etc. i hate barclays, would love them to implode

barclays can't refund your default charges whilst there is a court case pending, wait till mid 2009 and you will more than likely get your'e money back.
