After being loyal to 123 for a few years and reg. over 600+ domains through them. I am glad I used another 2 comp. as well. What is wrong that `123 is quick to reg .co.uk domains...but can take OVER SIX DAYS to reg a .com-- is it a financial reason over their credit , maybe some one could answer. To have the barefaced cheek to expect people to phone on a 0900 number to ask what is going on.
I have 500 uk and com domains looking for a safe, secure home...with a website I find easy to use abd not wait days for a proper answer to e-mails..z

They definately are suffering looking at the posts they are getting on here! I have around half my domains with them and half with UKreg. The difference being 123-reg when I had to contact them take ages to reply whereas ukreg are quite quick. Only downside with Ukreg is their page can be a bit hit and miss when reg'ing.
If you do a search on a domain it seems to reserve it for a short while. You then goto reg it and it says it's taken. It's then that i've used 123 although you can actually speak to uk reg and they'll reg it straight away.

123reg

..excepting auto reply....the answers to Emails take days and sometimes the answer given has no real meaning to question....as if person answering has english comprehension as 2nd language.....pity website great...customer service....below poor....even worse than trying to reason with traffic w---- z

123reg

...2 days now waiting to have .com domain reg....see how long.......z

Cheap is not always cheerful

I've used lowcostnames.co.uk for the last 6 months. Instant registration and an 0870 telephone number for support. Control panel is very good.

UKreg look good, but if things go t!ts up, you're back to the uk2.net scenario and cannot speak to a human being.

I hate the idea of 123reg taking your money every year unless you log in and tell them not to bother. ..... sneaky

123 reg

..VERY SURPRISED..recieved email offering to manualy put .com domain through..started to fill form..the realised I had just bought new laptop, and spent money on bag for it....still it was sorted in 3 days.....z

Stuck with 123 through all the crap.. when they missed regging Domains - that was the last straw. No problems so far with UK Reg :)

Is it just me or does the 123-reg domain name redirect not work? I point domain names to others, it says it is now pointing elsewhere, buit still weeks later it points to a 123-reg holding page! This is across dozens of domains!

No its not just you!

I am going to when I get the chance to change all NS to Namedrive or sedo or whoever. I am losing traffic. What has happened to 123?

Yes I have the same problem.

Could be done with a script, just dont have the time to do at the moment. How I wish 123-reg were like NameDrive in their interface. Easy to read, clear and quick to manipulate vast numbers of names. But for 123-reg there is not any money it for them, so they dont bother.

Try HeartInternet.co.uk

They have a unique domain robot which is a bit like the automaton where you can email in a request for domains to be registered.
Domains usually registered within a minute or two...

Their control panel is quite clean and good, and the prices are about the same as 123-reg.
