2 sitemaps ?

I've a blog (WP) and a forum (SMF) and am trying to figure out the best way to handle a sitemap(s).

There's a nice plugin for WP which auto updates the blog pages) but when I checked it I saw that the forum isn't in there at all...

So how's the best way to handle something like this?
Forget the plugin and create a single sitemap regularly by some software and then uploading it? Or is there a way to merge 2 sitemaps?
