We just sold a domain name (the name itself is immaterial).

The buyer exercised the right to register the .uk version within 10 minutes of the transfer being complete. (At no point had I even mentioned the existence of the .uk option; of course the name was sold with rights intact, like all of ours are).

It was interesting to see that, not only did they know about the .uk, but that they leapt to register it so quickly even though they had 3 years in which to do so...

Maybe the opposite, they lacked the knowledge to realise that they had 3 years yet to renew But congratulations on the sale regardless, and equally on ensuring rights remain in place.

My experience so far is most people outside of this industry still have no clue about .uk actually existing so that is a rarity. I have had a .co.uk sale where i offered the registered .uk free of charge and they still didn't want it!

had a nice little phone chat (and Giggle) with Laura at Nominet the other day about dot UK,
I'm keeping my options (and opinions) open. though I have to admit When Registering NEW domains and since the changes came into effect I have taken both at the registration stage.

Also just Sold and transferred a domain this Morning. Where the Webhosting Company (who paid me) were keen to confirm their rights to .UK

I have noticed a definite increase in businesses using a .uk
web address in tv adverts, in newspapers and in the street.
