Does anybody have any in depth knowledge on access, have a mate with a dodgy database (it' has about 4000 entries on it) It keeps packing in and regularly fails on him. He's been quoted big bucks to get it sorted From what he's told me it's part sql and part access 2003, wants it all migrating to access 2007. I know nothing of databases but said I would ask here and wondered if a grand would get it sorted?

I know its a 'how long is a piece of string' but will know more on monday, if anyones up for it drop me a line....my pm fills up fast so limitedspam (at) googlemail.com will definitely reach me.

Thanks

I'd advise your mate to get it all in mssql or mysql, anything but access.

is it just data, or are there any code bits etc in there.

I would advice getting it into mySql / SQL Server desktop edtion etc. depending what they have at their disposal. I wouldn't suggets Access unless he has an App built around it.

Yep, access has it's limitations so a better bet would be to migrate to SQL

Thanks folks

Although its for use in his accounting etc not his site, at present anyway I think it integrates with his staff for email label printing and the like...any other suggestions most welcome...
