Adsence Adds

I have noticed that on some sites the adsence adds differ greatly from the ones available from my own account. can anyone explain the reasons for this?

I think the sites with big traffic, like about.com or gumtree.com can change the look of the adsense ads, giving them more control.

Thanks for the reply. I think freeindex dot co dot uk have the same sort of adsence freedom, Not with the side adds but with the adds on internal listing pages.
