Hello guys,

I'm going to buy a new web hosting provider in the next month and, thanks to the many great posts and reviews that I've been searching through here on AD and at some other webmaster forums, I've narrowed my choice down to three -- HostGator, blueHost, and Lunarpages. All three seem to have all the features I'm looking for and are all priced extremely well. I've been researching their support history and have read lots of good things about all three of these providers. My main goal will be phpBB or may be VB forum, website.

So... I guess my question is:

Is there any reason I should pick any one of these providers over the other? I'm looking for any advice that anyone here would like to offer before I take the plunge and jump into the world of hosting intrigue.
If you know of any "red flags" or anything(pros & cons)I should be warned of before choosing any of the hosts I mentioned, please let me know.

Thanks for your time. And many thanks to Admins & Moders for maintaining such a great community here. I've learned a lot from this site over the past couple of weeks, and wish I'd known about it before I chose my first/current provider.

Regards,
Emiliano

I have heard of HostGator but the other two are new to me.

I would recommend www.weycrest.net

If you to be on a non-oversold UK cPanel server, we're not the cheapest, but are friendly:)

We can also host you on a US cPanel server or a UK Windows server if you'd like. Most of our customers have custom requirements, so the main websites are not really showing what we can do.

Whoever you go with, make sure you check the small print as many "budget" hosts appear too good to be true, then restrict what you can do with all the features they give you :(

If you want a friendly, support driven service then drop me a PM with your details/requirements and I'll be more than happy to quote you :)

Has anyone used meirhosting? They seem very cheap but I would like to find out some more before signing up. I'm after uk based reseller account for hosting minisites but with a few mysql db's too.

They offer 50 domains, 10gb transfer, 500mb storage for £7.99 a month
looking at other hosts they are very cheap. around half the price of others.
Is it cheap for a reason?

i also need advice...i need to host 10 websites..but i was just wondering whether all hosting companies offer you unlimited number of websites?

which hosting should i pick...because i only need to host about 10 sites.

Different hosts will offer different packages, we tend to do mainly custom packages, but others seem to do mainly pre-prepared packages. You'll really need to do a bit of research and pick the company you are most comfortable with as what's good hosting for 1 person is no good for another.

NOTE: If offered unlimited anything, then read the small print as unlimited is usually a small limit defined somewhere in the T&C's :(
