any escape from endless loop of android updates?

Does anyone know of a way to fix an Android tablet locked into continuous app updates?

every time it manages to boot up the screen is black apart from navigation tab and pull down options, soon after goes back into updates.

Today I am getting this on my firestick. which runs android I hope this is just coincidence and not an issue with the last update.

Restart into safe mode ?

Clear the cache partition ?

Factory Reset ?

Found access to recovery mode after some trial and error.

Budget device with no safe mode, clear cache did not fix, system check found faults, so only solution was factory reset. At least it is working again now.

I have seen several reports of Apple locking iphones as a penalty to owners using third party repair services. I guess this is similar, but without the intentional grief.
