Hi,

I know I see lots of you living abroad and Ive read a few threads already, but was wondering if there was any update to where/how you can watch itv player outside of the UK?

If you get a cheap vps or hosting account on a server in UK that allows shell access (SSH) you can create a proxy tunnel for your browser which will enable you at appear from that UK IP address to any site you want. I watched the world cup like that on BBC/ITV.

Expat shield is free and mentioned a lot - although I use HMA (not free).

One thing I noticed during the Euro's: with BBC, if you lose your connection to the VPN or proxy, the connection instantly dies, "not available in your region". Whereas with ITV, once you've made the initial connection, if you disconnect the VPN/proxy the stream stays (until you refresh the browser).

Just in case anyone else is looking. The one Jamie recommended only cost €7 for 3 months and works perfectly.

Shame bozo forgot the laptop so had to buy air port express, but highly recommend it and black VPN.

Depending on where you are going, get yourself a dreambox, you can see most sky channels (and all other UK channels) on that via a combination of dish and web.
