I didn't realise Steve Jobs was a buddist and who has sampled LCD. Nor did I realise that he was adopted. It just goes to show that anyone from any walk of life can make it to one of the richest people in the world.

It is a shame that this is down to ill health. It puts it into perspective that no matter how rich or well known you are, some illnesses just cant be escaped! He could have resigned years ago when he first got ill, it shows how important his job was to him.

It does mat you're right. He was paid $1 per year to be CEO of Apple. However that amount was ecliped given the sheer number and value of the shares he owns in Apple itself. Apparently he still wants a role on the board but it certainly wont be the helm of the corporation.
