Barclays dump customer service

Had my Barclays Card disable today, had to call up and got forwarded to the fraud department, The women asked where did I bought a theatre movie ticket in January 2008? I sid forgot, then she told me I fail the security question.

How Stupid, who's going to remember a one off small transaction half a year ago?

So I had to go to the bank and sort it out, wasted my whole lunch hour, just to be told it was to confirm a few tiny auounts payments, I asked what's the problem, they said it was just random security check.

yes but if you look at it this way, what if someone really did use it to buy a new plasma online . I think banks should do this more regular and also ive heard some banks now send you a txt everytime your card is used which is a very good idea.

Try going to Australia, after informing them. Card works fine for a couple of days then its blocked. Have to ring up and go through the rubbish to get it unlocked again.

Thats happened about three times now... utter prats! Not only do they ignore what you tell them, but they dont see the first 48hrs of use as fraud

Someone did that to me (skimmed at spurs - went to see wales v brazil) and spent about 3-4k before it was blocked.

Plod couldnt do anything as it was bank wronged, so no action taken, even though they had deliviery addresses and full history of purchases that I dug out for them.

People get jailed for subsistance theft, those being pro's get away with it

But it doesn't matter they'll refund you for fraud

Any they told me it will work within 10 mins, still not letting me pay with paypal, guess rob is right it will take 48hrs

I meant they let the card work somewhere thousands of miles away for 2 days before thinking 'thats dodgy' and blocking it

After ringing them it usually takes 15-30mins to unblock

Maybe Today is bad luck for me.... got an e-mail from an ebay saler that sold a .co.uk to me, he had no idea how to transfer a .co.uk

The time I was skimmed and had to cancel card etc was the night before I flew out to Auz for the first time. Literally checked statement about 11pm and noticed I had spent £2k with johnlewis.com !

Turns out the card had been used all over norf larndon for petrol as well, mixed in with my use in north wales. I would love to see how they tag stuff as fraud, as its complete finger in air as far as I can tell.

Na some crook had obviously been messing with the machine. The card came out only to get stuck on the lip in the machine. I could see it but couldn't get at it. Poked it and it went back in. The lovely wench behind the till told me it was blanket policy not to return cards. I smiled sweetly through gritted teeth.
