I have just put this up on the front page. If you have questions please email me rather than PM as it'll be easier to see everything. Thanks.

Important: From 16th December 2017 Domainview are no longer providing droplists. Since our start almost 5 years ago we have never raised our prices even though the cost of hardware and compiling statistics has increased. We are now in the process of breaking domainview up into its core business components which will be housed separately, the droplists now being on UKDroplists.com

This enables us to concentrate and improve on each aspect of the business. With this comes a new website and an increase to 90 days droplists with metrics. Every expiring/dropping domain is thoroughly researched and a quality index along with two pageranks added.

All current subscriptions will run through until their expiry date and stats still updated here but the recurring payment will be cancelled and, after finishing, cannot be repurchased at domainview. If you wish to sign up immediately at UKDroplists.com send an email at [email protected] with your domainview username and, once a plan is purchased, we will refund you the amount of time left at domainview.

Thank you for your custom here over the years. However this is not a closure - it is a well deserved upgrade and remodelling. You can get all details at https://UKDroplists.com

Awesome stuff Rob, seriously your droplist system is the #1 research tool in the UK domain industry. I have absolutely no idea what I would do without it.

Good luck to you Rob. Very reasonable prices. There's a lot of work and expense in maintaining this type of operation. Good that some people appreciate it. Anyone that can't afford £18/mo if they're in the game might consider a new vocation. IMHO.

Hi,
Thanks for the kind words. I increased the droplist to 90 days and now I don't have problems with any 'missing' domains. I understand that it is a big increase for some people but I haven't raised the prices for 5 years and also had to upgrade the hardware. I think in the industry this is a fair price and I have often paid more than this for tools in the field I was working. I paid exody $50 per month for their com lists for years for example. Luckily I signed up for access to com,net droplists a decade ago but if you look round you'll see that some people are charging double my subscription rate just for a single download of those tld zone files (all provided daily here). I will lose some clients of course but I am hoping the current price will balance this out with almost the same income being reached but with less resource usage and less support. As many of you know I have always prided domainview in a 15 minute response over the years and I intend to keep that possible. Also I doubt the price will move again for another 5 years :p
Regards
Rob

Hi Rob,

Good luck with it. So will these die soon

I'm sure you'll gain a few in 2019 when UK domaining kicks off again after being bent over and buggered hard by nominet for 4 years.... 2019 is when I become a domainer.

Still a bargain if you use the metrics, as Moz and Majestic are crazy expensive directly.

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I probably won't be using the drop lists once my current subscription expires, because there's way too much information in them for my needs. I have most of the different metric options unticked as I don't know what they are, metrics really aren't my thing.

The only reason I started using the drop list is because I caught a domain that had a load of backlinks that sold on Acorn, and that got me interested in domains with backlinks, I've caught a few since then, I think 4 sold but another dozen didn't, so I was already losing interest in backlink names. I'm better off chasing the usual type of names I like to load, otherwise I'm ending up with loads of backlink names and no idea what to do with them, so they end up on Sedo where they get traffic, but no offers due to the pricing.

I never look far ahead to warrant it either, I'm only now looking at Domain Views drop list for tomorrow, so 30, 60 or 90 day lists are of no use to me, the 7 day one I'm on is too much even :). I also use the Domain Lore drop list and can look through that in about 20 minutes, that's the one I've used for a long time, whereas on Rob's list, it might take a couple of hours at times with around 5K names to look at. I still prefer plain text drop lists with no metrics details at all.

Has taken me a while to adjust to the new site as it is a little different in it's layout and was initially stripped of some of the few metrics I did actually use. Rob has been an absolute star though and already taken a lot of my feedback on board and implemented a lot of my suggestions which I am very grateful for. I'm won over now.

The tweaks to the search functionality are a great improvement and even being able to view all the results on a single page makes life much easier.

Thanks. I've implemented three other plans now - I won't be adding any more so please don't contact me with specific plan details :p I think everything is covered with each plan offering something for everyone. Please contact me with ideas though and things you would like to see. Although I can't implement everything I try and do what's possible and it still surprises me how different everyone's research is as to what constitutes a 'good' domain.

Nice to see the addition of the basic plan as that is perfect for my needs.

@RobM Is there a way to show/hide columns on new site. I found that useful on DV as not interested in all columns

Below the header bar above any search boxes or date searches are a list of all the columns. Clicking on these will hide/show the column you selected.

Fantastic, had seen them but not clicked before, that's even better than before. Many thanks
