Amazon has loads of these things, for in most cases less than 100 quid. There's some as low as £40.

Just wondered if anyone here had any experience with them?

I could do with 2 or 3 7inch tablets. Would need to be able to access the Play Store. If i can install Cyanogenmod on them too that would be a plus but nit essential.

All they are needed for is light web browsing and social media apps.

I've not bought a tablet for a while, however, I think the same principles apply...

If you are happy rooting / installing another ROM then all is good, if not, then the cheap ones probably need to be classed as disposable. There are many common designs so frequently one tablet will internally be the same as another, so the common option ROM's may well run on a lot of them these days.

The problem with my old tablet is lack of RAM, that tends to be how the cheap ones save on production costs. Newer Android (like just about everything) benefits from lots more RAM than the older ones.

Do your research and find out what the internals are and then see if that is supported by the popular ROM's
