Hi there I have just got back into domaining and since I left we now have the introduction of the .uk and I had a couple of questions...

If I hand reg or buy dropped domains etc should I be looking to purchase the .uk as well? or what are the rules surrounding the .uk ?

can someone have the .uk and sell there .co.uk version just to make some extra money?

    many thanks

    Andy

A dropping .co.uk will give up rights to the .uk if not already registered, so you may want to consider trying to register/catch them both.

If you own both, they can be split to maximise profit, though this is generally frowned upon by the community, as many believe they should remain as a pair where possible, even if the buyer doesn't ask for the .uk (it has led to some heated discussions on here before!)
