If an established business / website has owned the .co.uk of their domain name for over 10 years and the .com was available to reg, where does that leave someone legally if they regged the .com ?

Is it wise to approach the company and offer the .com for sale ?

can they DRS you for the .com ?

any advice is welcome :)

I'm interested in the answers to this too.

My advice on approaching them would be don't.
And don't offer similar goods to theirs on your website.

If you bought it with another project in mind, put something up that's unrelated to their business.

Thanks for all replies so far.

No they are not trademarked at all.

Any other views on this ? be good to hear from some long term domainers here ;)

As has already been said, it is UDRP for .com - which is different from the DRS for .uk. Court is available for either type of extension.

As for the rest, I am afraid that it really depends on the name.

The Rule #1
