Could someone clarify something in the buying process for a .co.uk domain

I've paid the guy, received his nominet forms, completed my section of the forms, put in the IPSTAG (Is that what it's called?) of my usual registrar and then sent the forms off.

Do I need to do anything at my registrar? Like pay them? Or register the transfer there?

Or will it just appear in my account with the remainder of the time it had left before it was due to expire?

You will probably need to create the name in your registrar's account management system (I guess the same way as any other transfer in) otherwise the registrar won't know that the domain is yours when they get the notification from Nominet.

Whether there's payment due is down to their T&C's :)

You should get an email from nominet to say that the transfer has gone through. Check the whois and that they have the right tag then login to your domain account (fasthosts,123 etc) and there should be a transfer domain option somerwhere. fill that out and roberts your dads brother.

Thanks monaghan and hammer.

So I don't need to do anything with my registrar until the whois has changed.

Thanks
