I've bought a .com name from some guy in the states. The registrar is an ecommerce provider. The contact email address is located in a funny place on the whois and they don't seem to be getting the transfer requests from Heart Internet.

Is there another way of doing it? They don't have control panel access. I've asked them to change the contact email to mine, but to no joy yet.

Haven't done much with .com's for a while...

thanks in advance.

He'll need to get the auth code from the current registrar for a transfer to work. And unlock it if it's locked.

Who is the current registrar?

You need to ask them to unlock the domain and for the auth code to transfer it away. (From memory it can' be transfered to another registrar if a new reg or only been transfered in within last 60 days)

The whois email is showing as sales / AT / volusion.com does the seller not have access to this email?

Yes, but they have gone quiet on me... is the best thing to do to get them to change the admin email address do you think and try it that way?
